A signature staple of Teochew cuisine, our Rice Kueh (also known as Png Kueh) is instantly recognisable by its iconic peach-shaped form, symbolising longevity and good fortune. Each dumpling is encased in a soft, chewy skin made from a delicate blend of rice and tapioca flour, which can be enjoyed either traditionally steamed for a silky texture or pan-fried for a delightful crispy exterior.
The heart of the Rice Kueh is a rich, savoury filling of premium glutinous rice, expertly seasoned and stir-fried with a medley of traditional ingredients. Generous portions of aromatic dried shrimp, crunchy roasted peanuts, and fragrant fried shallots are folded into the rice, creating a deep, umami-rich profile that is both hearty and comforting.
